Question #1

Context:

Approaching the 21st Century it's clear new technologies are
dramatically changing the economy, society, and politics. We're living
through an information revolution and you'll be a U.S. Senator at the
dawn of an information society.

A key concern as we enter this new era is the economy. With, for
example, the rapid development of transnational economics, turmoil in
local economies as organizations adjust, and the problem of information
haves and have-nots, a Senator's assessment of the economy is vital to
the citizens a Senator represents.

Question:

On this basis please review your general ideas about the
economy and contrast these with those of your opponent(s).
