I have just learned that Council Member Kathy Thurber has decided to not run for reelection. While Kathy and I have disagreed on some issues, there has never been any doubt in my mind about her commitment to our community. I respect her years of service to the city including her work for the Midtown YWCA, for El Mercado Central and on the sauna problem.

I know Kathy loves and cares for Minneapolis and the 9th Ward as much as anyone in our community. I wish her all the best.
