8. How do you define homophobia?

Prejudice against gays, lesbians, and members of the bisexual transgender community

9. If elected, how would you use your position on the Board to promote the interests of the GLBT community?

I am not sure what the Library board can do in this regard. I am open to suggestions. Ensuring access to library facilities by groups representing this community and ensuring availability of books and other materials regarding the interests and perspectives of this community seem like good places to start.

10. What experience have you had with Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender (GLBT) issues and why are they important to you?

I have not had much experience, but I feel the issues are important because prejudice tends to be directed at multiple groups, not just one community. As a person of color, I feel prejudice always be opposed and confronted.
