Announcement Submission Guidelines ---------------------------------- Submissions are moderated in a balanced fashion by Announcement List Manager volunteers. Posts will be reviewed within one or two weekdays. Based on the specific guidelines below please e-mail announcements with closest *) subject code to: mn-politics-announce@egroups.com 1. Submissions accepted in text format only. Format them for readability. No attachments will be forwarded or converted to text. 2. All posts must include organizational or individual contact details identifying the source of the message and where further information about may be obtained. Anonymous posts will not be forwarded. 3. Submitting full text of other's material with a posted copyright notice is not allowed without the permission of the original author. Providing excerpts and direct URLs from documents on other web sites is encouraged. 4. By submitting an original message, authors agree to distribute their intellectual property via e-mail and inclusion in a permanent web archive. All authors retain their copyright and must be given full credits when their content is used elsewhere. These messages may be quoted or forwarded online to others as long as the "Minnesota Politics Announce" name and the full web address are also cited or linked. To ensure appropriate credits and promote public access to this community service, no media outlet may quote original postings first made available on this distribution list without giving the full citation. 5. Citizen opinion articles and open letters are to be written as you would for a newspaper or substantial publication. All articles must be signed with the authors full name, postal address, and e-mail address. They must be edited, spell checked and under 1000 words. Brief summaries of longer articles should include web address where the full article may be found. Please start the subject line with: O) Only one opinion article or open letter focused on a specific Minnesota public policy issue may be submitted each week per person. Submissions directly to the MN-POLITICS Discussion Forum will not be forwarded to the announcement list. Discussion forum participants are encouraged to turn their interesting discussions into edited articles for the larger announcement audience. 6. Discussion or replies to posts must be sent directly to the original sender or the MN-POLITICS discussion forum and NOT submitted to MN-POLITICS-ANNOUNCE or the Announcement List Managers. Do not post the same announcement to both MN-POLITICS- ANNOUNCE and MN-POLITICS. This will result in double messages to most people. We will discard messages we have seen posted first to MN-POLITICS. 7. This service is lightly moderated to direct messages to the appropriate forum and prevent unsolicited junk e-mail from reaching subscribers.
