Question 5: The Internet. Getting beyond the hype, what role, if any, should state government play in the development, promotion, use, taxation, and regulation of the Internet?
The candidate's responses to question 5 leave little to disagree with or rebut. The Internet is a good thing. It's OK for government to help build it. It's not OK for government to control it. As your Governor, I will veto any attempt to tax it. Watch for my web site, coming soon at: http://www.JesseVentura.org The domain name is now active. The site will be up in the next few days. Once it is up, watch my site for a new approach. Some of the candidate web sites are OK, a couple are well done, and some are flat. Check the Jesse Ventura web site often. We will be doing things on the web the other candidates haven't dreamed of. Pay attention to how Jesse Ventura uses the Internet to tell the truth and interact with the voters. Watch how most other candidates post political promises and talk down to the voters. Watch the candidate web sites for an indication of the kind of Governor a candidate might be. Watch the Jesse Ventura web site as we pioneer a new way for voters to interact with their candidate of choice, and with public officials.
