Chris Wright Response 8
Question 8: One of the most important tasks for our governor will be putting together an effective management team to govern Minnesota. Name one person you think would make a great state commissioner, and what agency do you think they would best lead? Why?
As governor I intend to form a ten member advisory committee to assist
my decisions on candidates for appointments to the 23 cabinet-level
positions as well as the various judgeships and state boards. It will
be the duty of the advisory committee to select men and women of
reason, integrity, professionalism, and racial and ethnic diversity. I
want individuals who will serve the citizens of Minnesota with
frugality, effectiveness, dignity, respect and honor. From these
worthy candidates I will choose a cross-section that reflects
Minnesota's diversity.
It would be a pleasure and an honor to select Derrick Grimmer of the
Grassroots Party to chair the committee for cabinet appointments.
Derrick Grimmer was our first candidate in 1986 when he ran for
Attorney General. Derrick is a Ph.D. physicist and entrepreneur who
founded the company, Thin Films, Inc., making amorphous silicon
photovoltaic cells to produce electricity from the sun.
Derrick Grimmer understands the qualities expected of management
within his company and the responsibilities that our state must carry
out through our various departments and agencies.
