As I have already indicated, the best way to ensure Medicare's long-term
survival is to balance the federal budget and create a robust and growing
economy. I am confidant we can achieve both of these objectives if we
have leaders dedicated to reducing the tax burden, controlling the
excessive growth of federal spending, and ending excessive regulation and
law suit abuse.

Accordingly, I support lowering taxes on Minnesota's families and small
businesses the Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution,
elimination of unnecessary and burdensome regulations, and tort reform.

Implementing these reforms will spark the economic growth that will allow
our nation to preserve Medicare for future generations.
