I was truly amazed at the response or lack of response by my two major
party opponents. Paul Wellstone's solution to this impeding nightmare
is to fix Medicare just enough so he and President Clinton do not have to
deal with the real problem of retiring the Baby Boomers. At least he
acknowledged that there is a problem. Rudy Boschwitz said absolutely
nothing about how he would go about saving our entitlement programs.

This is the most serious problem facing our nation since the Vietnam War.
If we do not address the entitlement program problems, we will be
devastating our children's economic future. Is this the type of
leadership that we want to send to Washington for the next six years?
Before you vote, please think about the kind of Senator you want to
have. One who won't even address our nation's most pressing problems for
fear of endangering his political career, or one who regards the future
of our nation as more important than his political career.
