Greetings! I'm quite happy (ecstatic, actually) that the League of Women Voters of Minnesota is supporting the Minnesota E-Democracy project in several ways. One is their endorsement of the E-Debates, which begin today. Another is that it has given permission to the Twin Cities Free-Net to distribute an electronic copy of its "General Election '94 Voter Guide". The LWV Voter Guide is a valuable 8-page document summarizing the positions of candidates for state and federal offices on a number of issues. If you're voting in the State of Minnesota this November, this Guide should be required reading. Many thanks to the LWV for their support! I'll attach the Table of Contents for the Guide below my signature. Instructions for obtaining the Guide's various parts via World Wide Web, Gopher, and electronic mail (for those without direct Internet access) can be found at the bottom. -Scott --- Scott Fritchie, UNIX Systems Manager Secretary: Academic Computing Center, St. Olaf College Twin Cities Free-Net 1510 St. Olaf Ave., Northfield, MN 55057 Organizing Committee fritchie@stolaf.edu ... 507/646.3407 (Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN) "Activism is the killer app for the net." -- Steven Cherry <stc@panix.com> --- snip --- snip --- snip --- snip --- snip --- snip --- snip --- snip --- GENERAL ELECTION '94: VOTER GUIDE Published by the LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF MINNESOTA EDUCATION FUND 550 Rice Street St. Paul MN 55103 Copyright 1994 League of Women Voters of Minnesota Education Fund ISBN 1-877889-08-3 The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization which encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Each Candidate for the six state constitutional officers, U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative was sent a questionaire. The League requested a picture, biographical information and answers to prepared questions. A word limit was placed on responses. Answers exceeding the word limits were cut at the nearest sentence. Responses are printed as received except for the correction of any spelling errors and arrangement to allow continuity of format. If you would like more information than this guide provides, call the candidate's campaign headquarters. Nothing in this publication is to be considered or used as an endorsement of any candidate or party. This General Election Voter Guide '94 made possible in part through a grant to the LWVMNEF from the Minnesota Business Partnership. This electronic version of this Guide is provided as a public service by Twin Cities Free-Net, Inc., a non-profit community computing organization. The League has generously given the Twin Cities Free-Net permission to redistribute this guide in electronic form. The original version of the Guide contains several tables which are not present in this electronic version. Please contact the League for a paper copy of the General Election Voter Guide '94 for complete position summaries. This guide may be freely distributed in electronic form provided it (and all of its constituent files) remain intact and unedited in any manner, including all credits and copyright notices. _________________________________________________________________ This document is provided electronically by the non-partisan MINNESOTA E-DEMOCRACY 1994 project.
